Raegan is too smart!!!

So yesterday I was on the phone telling someone how close Raegan and Kya are in size.  I had mentioned that I don't even bother boxing Makya's clothes up anymore because Rae is so close behind her.  ( Kya is somewhat small for her age and Rae is pretty average.)  I just make a pile on her shelf for a few months and then Raegan grows into them.  It was a completely harmless conversation.

Jordan overheard me, as always, and pipes in.  She said, "Raegan is kind of a fatty, huh Mom.  I mean compared to Kya she is kind of fat."  Before I could say anything, Raegan says, "I not fat Jodi.  Don't say dat wood.  I not fat."  Jordan cracks up laughing (and so did I)  Raegan yells, "It not funny Jodi,  I not fat.  Don't say dat, it not funny!!!"  By this time all the kids were cracking up and Raegan starts screaming the same thing over and over.  I told the kids not to say that anymore.  I told Raegan (who let me remind you is 2) she wasn't fat.  Then I made the kids go do their animal chores outside.  Raegan seemed to forget about this...so I thought.

Jordi came in from watering and feeding the chickens about a half hour later and the first thing Raegan said when she saw Jordan was, "Hey Fatty." I couldn't believe my ears.  I died laughing, as did Jordan.  Anyway Raegan and I had a talk, but I guess that will teach Jordan.

I can't believe my 12yr old and my 2yr old were fighting!!!  The best is that Rae got the last dig.  Hehehe!!!

Refiners Fire

So I just felt this story appropriate for all that is going on.  I hope you all take the time to read it.

There was a group of women in a Bible study on the book of Malachi. As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three which says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." (Malachi 3:3) This verse puzzled the women and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study. That week this woman called up a silver smith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest in silver beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silver smith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot--then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.

She asked the silver smith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silver smith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy--when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you.

Our Young Woman

Jordan gave her first talk in Sacrament Meeting last Sunday.  She did really good for her first time being in front of so many people.  She thought she was gonna pass out, but luckily didn't.  It was also her first Sunday in Young Womens', as well.  We cannot believe our little girl is growing up so fast.  We are very proud of our sweet girl.

Jordan's 12th birthday, so of course I had to buy trick candles.

She figured if she licked her fingers and grabbled the candle it would work, but she was too chicken.

When she was out of breath she used a towel.

Obviously that didn't work.  Next, here comes the temper...like father, like daughter!!! HEHEHE!!!!

Pray for Ryan and Ashley!!!!

Ryan (my sister Ashley's husband) went into the urgent care clinic on Wednesday for abdominal pain and came home with some pretty scary news.  He has a large growth in his adrenal gland (14cm).  Kris saw the scans and said you couldn't even see his organs on the one side, only the mass.  Ash said that this is pretty rare (only 290 some odd reported cases).  I guess in cases where the mass was over 6cm it was often cancer.  He went to a specialist on Thursday and they are planning to operate next Thursday. They did see a few other areas of concern so he will be having a MRI on Monday where the Dr and the Radiologist will be present.  They have run tests to see if there is hormones in the tumor or not.  If there is he will have to take meds to keep him from having a stroke when they take the tumor out.   They will be removing a rib and very possibly his kidney in this procedure.  He will be in the hospital in Boise for at least 5 days post op.  We will know more Monday and I will do my best to keep everyone posted.  In the mean time please be praying for their family.

Family Life

Jordan was suppose to be watching Raegan...Ya right!

Makya's first day of school.

This year I made a deal with Kris.  He could get a new truck if I could get a chicken coop.  I know it sounds like a funny request, but it worked.  Jayden and Kris working on the chicken coop.

The finished product.

Raegan feeding the chickens.  You gotta love the outfit and shoes.
Raegan loves her Daddy!

Raegan's preferred way of travel.

I was taking pics of this horse we want to sell.  I think the pic of the neighbor boy is hilarious.  He definitely looks unhappy on the very back.

Jordan's new found love is JUMPING! This is Makya's horse Royal. He is absolutely amazing!!! He is our babysitter and our thrill seeker.

Family Ride

Below are pictures that I took when we went on our trip to Joseph and Enterprise, Oregon this year.  We stayed in the cutest little cabin that also boards horses.  It was the perfect get away.  We went to a competition for the kids on the way up.  They all competed and placed.  Jordan took 1st, Jayd took 2nd and Kya took 8th.  There was alot of kids competing against all of them.  The class was 12 and under so poor Ky had to compete against the big kids.  She did very well though.

We spent the next four days riding in some on the most beautiful country God has created.   Makya surprised us so much.  She grew in leaps and bounds in confidence and her riding ability this trip.  Jordan and Jayden jumped every log in sight.  What wonderful memories we have been able to build together!

Wallowa Valley

This was Makya's first time going through a creek.  She was really concentrating.

Follow the leader.

There is a funny story behind this picture.  Kya had gotten off her horse to go to potty and when she came back and held him he kept knocking her hat off.  She would put it back on her head and he would knock it off again.  Finally she held it in her hand and looked at him very unhappy.  Click on this pic to get the full effect of her expression.

Daddy and Kya

Jordan spent more time jumping logs than anything.  At lunch we would have to find a pile of logs to picnic by so they could practice jumping. It was alot of fun!

I think this is my favorite pic we got.  I want to blow it up for our wall.

Horse Competitions 09

This is the belt buckle Jordan won this year.  To get it you have to place 1st.  GREAT JOB JORDI!!!  Her and Jayden competed against each other.  There were about 15 kids in the class and Jayd placed 2nd.  I am such a proud mama.

Makya on her horse (which she stole from Jayden).

She is SOOOOO stinkin cute!!!  She was so excited to compete.  She told Jayden, "I'm gonna beat you on your own horse and then say, BOOYA!!!"

Jayden is always smiling when he is riding.
Jordan spinning Uno.  Check out her lips kissin to him...."faster, faster!!!"

This is a picture of the second show Jordan and Jayden competed in, but Kya's first.

Our nephew Camden petting Jordan's horse.  Isn't he so cute!

This is a picture of Jayden at his first show.  He did SO good.  He placed first.  They even put a picture of him on the reining website for this area to promote kids reining. Check it out.  http://www.snaffle-bit.com/Photo_Gallery.php

This is a picture of Jordan at her first reining show.  She did well for her first time.  She has a slight disadvantage because she is up against kids who have been doing this for a while.  She took 2nd in this show.  We were very pleased.
