Welcome our sweet baby Quentin James

Quentin was due between March 1st and March 6th.  When I hadn't progressed past 1cm on the 1st the Dr said we should get things going.  He set me up for an induction of all times at 2am March 3rd.  Obviously we didn't get ANY sleep anticipating our new addition.

We arrived at the hospital at 1:30am and the process was started....No turning back.  I was also induced with Raegan and had her in 2 1/2 hours, start to finish.  This time the nurses were making bets on how long it would take.  Most said under 2 hours.  By 7:30 when my Dr came in, still no baby and STILL no change.  I was a little frustrated with myself, but no big deal it will come I thought.  At about 11am STILL no change.  The babies heartbeat started to not look so good and my blood pressure was dropping.  They took me off the pit waited a bit and started over.  When the Dr came in at 12pm I had progressed to a 3 so we were happy.  Thinking we were just gonna have to wait it out we calmed down a bit.

After that the baby continued to have problems with his heart rate and my blood pressure continued to drop.  Then I started to get a fever.  We started to panic a bit not knowing what was going on.  By 7pm not much had changed.  17 1/2 hours of labor AND NOT MUCH OF A CHANGE!!!  They told us they thought the cord was wrapped around his neck and he couldn't engage into the birth canal and that was why nothing was happening.  We were SOOOO worried.  (Great my baby is gonna hang himself.)  His heart rate now was up to 198 at times and then would go as low as 120.  My blood pressure was so low, I felt so weak I didn't know if I could push if I had to.  The Dr said it was time for a c-section and I never thought I would be happy to hear those words, but I must say I was.  I just wanted to know my sweet little boy would be safe.

They told Kris to get ready in some awesome scrubs, prepped me, gave me the meds to deaden my legs and took me back.  When we got back I ended up moving myself to the operating table.  Needless to say that wasn't gonna work.  They ended up saying Kris couldn't come back, there was no time to try and fix the spinal I had to go under general anesthesia.  I HATED the thought of not having Kris by my side, but there wasn't anything we could do about it.

A few hours later I woke up in recovery in pain to say the least.  The great thing about a spinal working is the pain control after surgery.  I am glad that is over.  ;)  I also ended up needing 4 units of blood and iv antibiotics for my mysterious fever, but Quentin was as healthy as a horse.  He weighed 8lb 3oz, was 20 inches long and the reason he didn't engage and drop into the birth canal was his 14 3/4 head.  lol

We are SO happy to be home and healthy.  The recovery stinks, especially with 5 kids, but our sweet little man was sure worth it!

All dressed up with no were to go ;)

Fatty himself. Isn't God amazing.  How that fit inside of me never ceases to amaze me.

Raegan LOVES to wear Quentins clothes.  She keeps putting on his socks, but tonight she happened to come out in his pants.  She has been taking Kris around the house pointing at everything saying, "Dad thats Raegans, K Dad. That's not Quentins, that's Raegans, K Dad."

Still no baby :(

So far with all my kids I have had them all early. Jordan was almost 2 weeks early, Jayden 6 weeks early, Kya 8 days early and then Raegan was induced 9 days early. Well it this one isn't happening that way. I went to the Dr on Thursday and he said "We can set you up for next week if you want." I just didn't feel mentally ready so I was stubborn and said no. My due date is between March 1st and March 6th so I am not "late" yet either, but we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of our sweet baby boy!!!

Of course all of my friends are giving me all kinds of advise to help induce labor....lol! So far I have not been desperate enough to drink caster oil or do MANY of the other interesting things I have heard. I was telling Jordi last night that the message therapist told me about some pressure points to rub that help you go into labor if you are ready. Jordi was SOOOO stinkin cute! She said, "Hey Mom, how about I get the lotion and I will rub those spots you were telling me about." I took her up on it and she kept asking if I was having contractions yet. She ended up falling asleep at the foot of my bed rubbing my feet. This morning she got up and was SOOOOOO disappointed that her hard work didn't result in a new baby. Aren't kids PRECIOUS!

All in all, it is a good thing I haven't had him yet because I still have much to do. I am getting ready to hunt down my swing and bassinet and get them washed and ready. Then I need to go through my newborn tote and pull out socks and misc unisex items I know I have in there. Wish me luck!!! (and PAIN!!!) ;)

Don't be disturbed

So we decided to do snapshots on the computer today and at first it was just playful, but then Jayden said "Do the xray format mom." Well they look a little scary to say the least. But it was all in fun.

Ultrasound

We went to the Dr today for my appt and ultrasound. When I got into the ultrasound room the lady mentioned that the Dr thought I seemed small for as far along as I am and that he was worried about the babies growth. This was the first I had heard of that and I was thinkin the Dr is CRAZY. ;) Anyway she said the baby is actually measuring BIG. His head measured a whoppin 37 wks and 6 days.(He is gonna have a big head like Jayden. Hehehe!) His body is measuring 35wks and 6 days. He weighs approx 5lb 8oz, so obviously NOT small for having another 5wks to go. All good news.

Getting Huge

So for all who haven't seen me in a while I took a pic of myself w/my cell phone. Kris had my camera and was in Texas this past week/weekend w/my dad. Dad had to bring some horses back from Texas, so Kris flew there and helped drive back. Anyway, I am almost 35 wks pregnant. I was on bed rest for several days last week because contractions were down to 5min apart (Scary!). I am proud to say, that is over and now I am back to normal. We have a 3-D ultrasound tomorrow. I will be posting more pics tomorrow!!!!

Christmas 09

Jayden got a breast collar for his horse Black.  he is gonna look HOT this show season....the horse and the boy.  He also got blue boots for his horse and a blue blanket for his horse.  Now we just need warm weather!!!

Like mother like daughter, what can I say she loves the phone.  You gotta love the hair, too.

Again, gotta love the hair.

Kya getting her tag learning system.  She loves it.

jayden is addicted to Halo, so Halo legos were definitely a more healthy than more xbox games.

Jordi w/her Jordans.  Like father like daughter.

I must say this has been the BIGGEST hit for Christmas this year.  Kya, Raegan, and Jayden have played more w/this barn than ANYTHING!  LOVE IT!!!

Our Little Missionaries

So I haven't downloaded movies from our camcorder in about 9 months.  I got it out a few days ago and decided to download everything so I could have more room on our camcorder.  After downloading Kris and I started going through the old home videos.  We came upon one that I didn't know about or remember.  When we watched it we realized that the kids had taken the camera upstairs and decided to make their own movie.  It was so stinking funny.  I decided it was worthy of making their wish come true and making into a movie.  I spent a little time today getting it done.  It is suppose to be about Chase (Kris's Brother) who is in Africa on a mission for our church.  They ended up getting side tracked, as kids do, so it is super short.  P.S. Remember that the upstairs is the kids domain and this particular day was pretty messy because I obviously wasn't supervising them very well.  ;)  Click on the link below to see it.
